Ani Schulze (born 1982 in Frankenberg (GER)) studied at Städelschule in Frankfurt am Main, Glasgow School of Arts, at Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and Kunstakademie Karlsruhe (2009- 2014).
The practice of Ani Schulze moves seamlessly between painting, drawing, film, sculpture and installation.
Her work has been shown in various screenings, solo and group shows notably at Clages Gallery, Cologne; Mountains Gallery, Berlin; Galeria Municipal, Porto; Hamburger Kunsthalle; Lehmann + Silva Gallery, Porto; Pavilhão Branco, Lisbon; Kunstverein Siegen; I: Project Space, Beijing; Kunsthalle Schirn, Frankfurt; A Certain Lack of Coherence, Porto; Oberhausen Short Film Festival; Marl Media Art Awards; Galerie Nagel Draxler, Cologne; Museum für Neue Kunst, Freiburg; Temporary Gallery, Cologne; Salzburger Kunstverein; Kölnischer Kunstverein, Cologne and Extra City Kunsthal, Antwerpen. She received grants and residencies by HBK- Hochschule für Bildende Künste Braunschweig, Cité Internationale des Arts, Paris, Goethe Institute China, I: Project Space, Schloss Ringenberg, Kunststiftung NRW, RAVI Liège, AiR Antwerpen, Innogy Stiftung, CEAAC and Fondazione Bevilaqua La Masa. In 2022 she was awarded with the fellowship for female media artists in North Rhine-Westfalia.
